Szambelan: A Vodka on the Rise 

Sarasota FL - When Szambelan (pronounced zamobaolan) vodka made its appearance in Sarasota last fall, all indications were that the new vodka on the block would be a smash hit with connoisseurs, critics and the vodka drinking public. Ten months later, those perceptions are proving to be correct.

According to Ken Brand, founder and president of Brand Name Imports (BNI) which has the exclusive US distribution rights to Szambelan, "In the last nine months, our presence and sales have expended from solely Sarasota to include distribution territories from Naples to Tampa and east to Lakeland and Orlando."

Additionally, in March Szambelan picked up a Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirit Competition beating out such prestigious vodka leaders as Belvedere, Zyr, Chopin, Finlandia and Stolichnya Elit. Ken adds, "In its 300 year old history, the refinement of Szambelan's taste and smoothness has been remarkable and its appeal to our contemporary audience has grown along with its notoriety and success."

Part of Szambelan's success is due to its sponsorship presence at non-profit fund raisers for The Sarasota County Arts Council, All Faiths Food Bank, Child Protection Center, 40 Carrots and Giving Hunger the Blues.

In addition to it inaugural presence in a liter size bottle, Szambelan is now available in 50ml and 750ml packaging and its new line of flavored vodkas include lemon, vanilla, cranberry and cherry. "All of this enhances its availability and appeal and increases its presence in an already crowded field" explains Ken. "While some people use the full name of Szambelan to order our old world vodka taste experience, we're encouraging our audience to short form their calls by asking for it as ZAM as in our Zamtinini, Zam & Cran or our most popular and distinguished mix, the Apple Zam."
